Reunion 1999: Class Notes from Ralph Renfro (May 1999)
I still reside in Chase, KS., a small community in Rice County. I am still married to Dianne, 30 years in April. I have one daughter, Krystyn; however, she is now Krystyn Hardy, husband Joe, grandson, Griffin (a truly gifted and adorable child.) Griffey is going on 9 months old.
I am still coaching, teaching math and science at our Middle School. I’ve had two undefeated football teams in the last 3 years. I am also the Principal of the school.
Dianne is Head of Food Services for our District.
I have been and continue to be very active in the Kansas Bowhunters Association, Kansas‚ largest outdoor organization. I have served on the Executive Council of KBA for the past 10 years, four of them as President. I make all my bows and other equipment that I use to hunt with. I’ve hunted about everything that’s huntable. Next June 1st, Dianne and I will be in Manitoba with other friends. The Boys will be Bowhunting Bear and the Girls will be catching Northern Pike and Giant Walleye.
(May 2004 Update)
Ann, thanks for getting my email addy to Scrib. Damn the luck, I can't make it [to the reunion this year]. I am giving a seminar in Marshall, Mo on Saturday and Sunday. Oh well! Wish I wasnt already committed. Please tell everyone hi from me. I retired from Education three years ago. I had taught Jr. High math and science for 32 years. Coached FB for 32, BB for 27, and track for 32. The last 20 years of my tenure also included Middle School Principal. Im still married to wife Dianne, 35 years. We have one Daughter, Krystyn, of Lawrence, Ks and two adorable grandchildren, Griffin-6 and Isabel-4. They are the light of our lives. I'm passing my time working on the farm and building Bows as in Bows and Arrows. Ive been building and hunting with my primitive archery equipment for the past 15 years. I've bowhunted from Mexico to Canada and parts in between. It is a real passion for me. I am the immediate Past President of the Kansas Bowhunters Association, the only statewide archery organization in Kansas. Other than this, we keep busy with aging Parents, Dianne's, mine are both gone, and gardening. I hope that everyone has a wonderful reunion and an equally wonderful time. I also hope this finds everyone in good health and spirits. God Bless, Ralph Renfro. P.S. I'm still the youngest member of our class. I wont be 57 till November. You older folks have fun.
