Bio, 2009: Cathi Schnell Thomas
I can't believe that I’m not going to get to see all of you making the reunion! I have been lucky enough to keep in touch with Ann Jay Berry, and she has kept me up on all of you. I must say I’m proud to have been in your class. I think you all are pretty great!
Now for my bio. As you all know I married Jay Thomas in 1963. Best thing that could have happened to me . Not so lucky for Jay in the long run.
I love art and decided to make my mark on the world. So from 1967 it became my life’s work along with raising my two children. Todd my oldest is 46 and is an engineer out of Texas University. My daughter 40 is a design systems architect. She has since had to leave her job due to arthritis and lupus. Lori is very involved in activities of her 3 children. Todd also has 3 beautiful daughters, one of which is giving us our first great grand child.
My art went great for me from 1967 to Feb.14 1985. After setting up an art show arrived home with Lori and saw a dog I did not recognize from the neighborhood. I should have followed my uneasy feelings and not gotten out of my car. Long sorry short the Rottweiler attacked me and my life as I had known it was over. Six back surgeries and breast cancer have pretty much kept me busy at doctors offices, pain clinics, and hospitals. Jay has been with me every step of the way!
Before I close I want to thank those of you who sent me that wonderful card it made me cry to think that anybody remembered me much less took the time to sign a card . So thank you all so much for thinking of me.
Jay has retired from Chevron and Gulf oil and is very successful in playing in Blackjack Tournaments all over the country. We’ve been married for a long time and I’m looking forward to our 50th wedding anniversary!
You all have a great time at the reunion .
