Bio, 2009: David Moore

After C.E. Donart, I spent four years at OSU (B.S. - Chemistry). Junelle (Minton - Class of '65) and I got married in 1969 and moved to Fayetteville, AR to attend U of A (M.S. & PhD - Nuclear Chemistry).

I finally fulfilled one of my dreams here—learned to fly! Some may remember that Jim McCalester and I built a full-size airplane for a science project during our junior and senior years—at least Jim will remember!

After a stint at Texas A&M, we moved to Virginia (and California) as a consultant to commercial nuclear reactor facilities including Three Mile Island (I was not responsible—left many years prior!). After an additional tour at TAMU, we moved back home—well almost. We moved to Ponca City to work for Conoco, where my group provided computer support for research scientists.

Junelle & I retired in 2002 and moved back to Fayetteville. We now live in an airplane hangar (house built inside) located on a residential airpark (grass strip located in a valley 5 miles west of Fayetteville). We have two daughters and four grandchildren still living in Oklahoma. I’m not sure how fond Junelle is of life in a hangar, but she sure likes that we can be airborne and on the way to see her grandchildren 5-10 minutes after walking out her front door.

We have some other commitments for the reunion weekend and will not be able to attend, but certainly have enjoyed reading these “bios.”

Good to hear from everyone.
