Bio, 2009: Greg KeelerSenior Class Picture of Greg Keeler

After high school, I got a BA in English at OSU, got married to Edith Hamrick from OKC, went to Turkey in the Peace Corps, came back to OK, got divorced, got an MA in English at OSU, went to Idaho State University in Pocatello, got a DA in English, married my current wife, Judy, in 1973, moved to Natchitoches, LA for my first college teaching job, then moved to Bozeman, MT with Judy, our son, Max, and Judy’s son (my step-son) Chris, and have lived here and taught English at MSU since 1975.

I’ve been a fishing addict since I was a tot and wrote a memoir, Trash Fish, about it (which includes some Stillwater stories).  When I haven’t been teaching or fishing, I’ve written six musical comedies, made a bunch of CDs of dumb songs (one of them, “WD-40 Polka” aired on Car Talk), written articles for several magazines, published several books of poetry and two memoirs, drawn cartoons for Canada’s Walrus magazine and painted a bunch of pictures.  You can watch me sing several of my dumb songs at:

My sons, Max and Chris now live in Alexandria, VA, where Max married Perrin Vallender, and they have two children, Henry and Charlotte.
