Bio, 2009: Judy Caldwell Neal

It was great to hear from you [Ann].  I am so pleased that I was on your list of people to find.  I wasn't sure I would be remembered as an alumni since I left Stillwater after my junior year. I am doing great though.  I have written a personal biography that you can add to the others.

I married very young (at the end of my junior year) and left Stillwater and moved to Idaho. I was only in Idaho for a short period and then moved to California where I have lived for the last 46 years. I worked at several different jobs, but without a high school diploma I couldn't secure a desirable one. I divorced my first husband in 1969 and was remarried in 1970. I have been married to a wonderful man for the last 39 years. I have three children (2 boys and 1 girl) and two granddaughters.

I went back to school after my youngest child was two years old. It was due to my husband’s encouragement and support that I finished high school and graduated in 1974.

I went to work in 1974 and worked for 32 years in education. During that time I went back to school earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology.

Some of my work included working as a Project Manager in charge of the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant that supported two high schools in the East Side Union High School District. I also designed multimedia presentations, major publications, and taught computer classes teachers, classified personnel, and administrators.

In addition to a Project Director and teacher, I was an Administrative Assistant for the Superintendent of the third largest high school district in California. I was in charge of completing major projects for the Superintendent and functioned as an interface between the school district and the local news media.

Currently, both my husband and I are retired. We just purchased a 52-foot yacht and are planning on spending most of our leisure time on the water and traveling. Last year we enjoyed a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. This year we are planning a trip to London with our children and grandchildren.
