Bio, 2009: Ronnie HudiburgSenior Class Picture of Ronnie Hudiburg

Hi everyone,

Here's a little of what has been going on in my life since leaving Oklahoma in 1974.

My wife, Jo Anne, and 2 year old daughter, Melissa (36) and I traveled to Port Angeles, Washington in 1974 where I taught high school biology and coached wrestling for ten years. My two other children, daughter Tara (33) and son Clayton (31) were born there. In 1983 we moved to Port Orchard, Wa. for another teaching (chemistry ) and coaching job in the local high school. Port Orchard is located on Puget sound across from Seattle. We can watch the Seattle ferry go by several times a day from our deck. I retired in 2004 after 30 years of teaching and coaching in Washington. Add the 3 years taught in Duncan, Ok. and you get 33 total. I still sub a few days each month.

Jo Anne is still employed by the local educational service district and supervises about 5 preschools.

Daughter Melissa, is at home with us. She is disabled, but does fine.

Daughter Tara is working on her Phd in Forestry at Oregon State Univ. in Corvallis, Or. She has a 6 year old son. She is also a champion rock climber.

Son Clayton is teaching science and coaching wrestling at Walla Walla H.S. in Walla Walla, Wa. He has two sons, 9 and 5. Clayton wrestled for my team and was a state placer his senior year.

That gives me 3 grandson's which works out to about 1/4 of a wrestling team.

I started playing the 5 string banjo in college and I'm still at it. I attend bluegrass and old time music festivals around the North West. I also buy, restore and sell old banjos.

Life for me is good. I have my health, family and music interests. I am truly enjoying retirement.
